Last Updated: July 15, 2025

Welcome to Barks ‘n Bubbles! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website at www.barksnbubbles.com.au and the provision of all dog grooming services by Barks ‘n Bubbles (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By booking an appointment or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy, our Appointment, No-Show & Cancellation Policy, our Matting Policy, and our Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning Policy.

1. Our Services

Barks ‘n Bubbles provides professional 1-on-1 dog grooming services from our home salon in Hallett Cove, Adelaide, Australia. Our services include Full Grooms, Mini Makeovers, Handstripping, Bathing & De-shedding, and Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning. Detailed descriptions of these services are available on our website.

2. Booking Appointments & Payments

  • Booking: All appointments must be booked in advance via our online booking system (GrooMore) or by contacting us directly.

  • Payment Details: To secure your appointment, valid credit or debit card details are required at the time of booking. These details are held securely by our PCI-compliant third-party booking system, GrooMore, and will only be charged in accordance with our stated policies.

  • Pricing: Our service pricing is displayed on our website and is “from” a stated amount. Final prices are dependent on factors such as breed, size, coat condition, and specific grooming requirements, and are subject to change without prior notice. Any additional fees (e.g., for matting) will be discussed with you before proceeding with the service.

  • Payment Due: Full payment for services rendered is due upon completion of the groom unless otherwise specified.

  • Appointment Policies: By booking, you agree to our Appointment, No-Show & Cancellation Policy, which details our requirements for notice periods, late arrivals, and applicable charges for missed or late-cancelled appointments. Please refer to that specific policy for full details.

3. Client Responsibilities

As the dog owner/guardian, you agree to:

  • Provide Accurate Information: Disclose all relevant information about your dog, including any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, behavioural issues (e.g., aggression, anxiety), sensitivities, or special needs, prior to or at the time of booking. Failure to disclose may result in termination of the groom or refusal of future services.

  • Health & Vaccinations: Ensure your dog is healthy, up-to-date on all necessary vaccinations, and free from fleas, ticks, or other parasites at the time of their appointment. If parasites are found, a special flea bath and additional charges will apply, and we may need to reschedule.

  • Timely Drop-off & Pick-up: Adhere to scheduled drop-off and pick-up times. We operate on a strict 1-on-1 schedule. As per our Appointment Policy, if you are 15 minutes late or more for your scheduled appointment, we reserve the right to cancel the appointment, and the full service fee will be charged. Late pick-ups may also incur an additional fee.

  • Honesty Regarding Matting: Be honest about your dog’s coat condition. If your dog arrives severely matted, you understand and agree to the terms outlined in our Matting Policy.

4. Groomer’s Rights & Responsibilities

  • Right to Refuse Service: We reserve the right to refuse service to any dog that poses a risk to Michael’s safety, other animals, or themselves, or if the dog’s health or temperament is deemed unsuitable for grooming.

  • Humane Handling: We commit to providing gentle, compassionate, and humane handling throughout the grooming process. We use positive reinforcement techniques to ensure a comfortable experience.

  • Emergency Veterinary Care: In the unlikely event of an injury or a medical emergency during grooming, Michael will attempt to contact you immediately. If you cannot be reached, we reserve the right to seek veterinary attention at your expense.

  • Welfare Decisions: In situations where a dog’s welfare is compromised (e.g., severe matting, extreme stress), Michael’s professional judgment will take precedence, even if it means altering the planned groom (e.g., shaving down a matted coat).

5. Health & Safety Considerations

  • Aggressive or Anxious Dogs: We will make every effort to groom anxious or mildly aggressive dogs, but for safety, muzzles may be used, or the groom may be stopped if the dog’s stress levels become too high. Full payment may still be required if the groom cannot be completed due to aggression or extreme anxiety.

  • Accidents: All due care and caution will be exercised. However, minor accidents can occur during grooming, such as nicks from clippers on very loose skin, or quicking of nails. We are not liable for accidental nicks or cuts resulting from unexpected movements by your dog, or for issues arising from pre-existing conditions (e.g., skin irritation under matting).

  • Pre-Existing Conditions: We are not responsible for injuries or issues that arise from your dog having pre-existing health conditions or temperament issues not disclosed prior to grooming.

  • Pregnant Dogs & Bitches in Season: For the safety and well-being of the mother and her puppies, we do not groom pregnant dogs. We are happy to groom bitches who are in season, but we kindly request that you inform us at the time of booking or drop-off so we can take appropriate precautions.

6. Specific Service Policies (Reference)

  • Matting Policy: Please read our detailed Matting Policy on our website which outlines our procedures, risks, and additional charges for matted coats, including the responsibility for any vet bills due to matting or shaving down.

  • Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning Policy: Please read our detailed Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning Policy on our website which clarifies the nature of this non-anaesthetic service, suitability, limitations, and client acknowledgements.

7. Photography & Marketing Consent

We may take photographs of your dog before, during, and after grooming for internal record-keeping, client reference, and for use in Barks ‘n Bubbles’ publicity and marketing materials (website, social media). By booking our services, you grant us permission for such use unless you specifically request otherwise in writing prior to the groom.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, Barks ‘n Bubbles shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from:

  • Your access to or use of our website and services.
